COD WITH TOMATO: Easy recipe

Cod is one of the best fish in the world to cook, especially in sauce.

It can be prepared at any time of the year, but ideally on cool or rainy days.

In this recipe we are going to make it with tomato, onion and garlic. Very simple but very rich.

I have also put some fresh prawns peeled, this is more for decoration and because I find it fun, but it is absolutely optional, ok?

Recipe of cod with tomato

Here we explain how to make cod with tomato very easily.Take them out of the pan and reserve on a plate with absorbent paper to remove the excess oil.

  • In the oil left in the pan add the rolled garlic and sauté a little, add the onion and sauté again.
  • When everything is poached, add the crushed tomato, let it cook for about 25 minutes, moderate, do not forget to stir from time to time, tasting the salt and the acidity of the tomato, which you can correct with a little bit of sugar.
  • Now you have to place half of it in a pot of the tomato sauce, place the loins of the cod with the skin facing down so that the flakes remain joined and add the rest of the sauce over the top.
  • Put the 4 or 5 peeled prawns and let it cook for about 8 or 10 minutes over low heat and you'll be ready to eat. Remove from heat and let stand.
  • When serving you can decorate with fresh parsley chopped.
  • With what to accompany the cod with tomato

The first thing comes to mind when thinking of a recipe for cod in tomato sauce is that it should be accompanied with potatoes, whether steamed, boiled or even baked.

Of those options the one I recommend most is the steam, I think it's the perfect garnish, ideal to dip in the sauce 🙂

Another common option is to serve white rice, which also works great when mixed with cod sauce.

Finally we can try ocn some fresh salad, preferably based on lettuce or any similar green leaf, and well, it does not need to result in a salad with tomato 😛

My advice? Accompany this recipe of cod in tomato sauce with steamed potatoes and a green salad.

Oh, and do not forget to put a splash of olive oil at the time of serving ... the cod .. the potatoes and the salad.

Other recipes with cod that I recommend:

    • Cod salad
    • Porrusalda de cod
